Eight months away

Eight months away from Europe, and we actually feel quite OK.
Our health is better than ever, we are learning loads of new things every day, we are not spending so much money and we never get bored.

Once we wrote about the good things about having a long holiday ahead of you. This is a list of some random not-so-good things that may happen as well:

  • You start mixing up names of the places you have visited
  • Your bank blocks your card every time you attempt to purchase anything online from a new country. To your bank, your behaviour seems irregular, you should remain in the same place. If the card is used from several locations it’s not you, it’s a thief.
  • Some emails to your loved ones start to be marked as spam. Your identity starts to be questioned by your email provider too.
  • You start to dislike the moment you have to choose a room in a hotel, again!
  • You get really happy when you receive a message from somebody back home. However, you are not so sure how they feel when reading your stories.
If theirs are more inspired than yours, they deserve to be shared…

Oskar, Claudia,

Once again I strolled past your website (I don’t do it as often as I should), and once again I left depressed (which is why I don’t do it as often as I should). Will you please, please, please, PLEASE stop having such a good time? I mean, is it too much to ask that you both have at least one really bad week? Maybe just once think  “Oh, I wish we were still in Europe, working like dogs for the Capitalist Machine under the foolish and pointless illusion that we exist only to suffer”. Is that too much to ask? Is it? Really?

OK, OK – I’m extremely jealous and the only thing that gives me any comfort is the fact that you both (probably) have to stop enjoying yourselves this year and (probably) have to return to Europe and (probably) have to find work. God, just thinking about it makes me feel SO much better. I get this warm feeling all over, like I’m being kissed by Kim Basinger (I’ve never been kissed by Kim, but I have a broad imagination).

Please stop having fun. Please.

Gary

PS. Hope you are both well!
